The chapter opens with a flashback to the first day that Hiroshi and Harada met. Hiroshi tells Harada that they never kissed, but that they are now "step siblings" and that he tried to kiss Harada when he was sleeping on the sofa. Harada says that he feels bad for saying that, but he doesn't know what to say. He tells Hiroshi that he is reading a fairy tale collection and that his story is in it, too. He asks if he can bring it to Harada's house, but Hiroshi says that his room might be messy, so he will have to clean it up first. He says that all men should carry a book with them at all times, just in case something happens.
