The chapter ends with the two of them standing on the roof of a building. They've just finished the fourth matchmaking trial, and they're ready to go to the top. The narrator is all, "you're so cute, no way" , and the narrator says, "stop making me blush" . The two decide to keep the festival going, but the narrator doesn't want to announce the results yet, so he's going to announce them later. He's excited about the sales of the book, which is the most the book club has ever done. He wants to put a feature on the front of his book that will catch people's eye, and he wants to make sure that the next year, he'll be the one to do it. As the narrator leaves, he asks the girl if she's come to the club often, and she says she does. The girl tells him that she was the only one to visit the club room when he was a member, and that's how he got to know her. She says that after that, the other members of the club graduated, and then they got a new one, and a couple more, and so on and so forth. She tells the girl that she had no idea how much attention he was paying to her, even if she was just a student.
