The chapter opens with a conversation between the two young men, who have just landed a job sharing a room at a large hotel resort. The young men are shocked to learn that the job is an "over night gig" and that they will have to share a room with a man and a young woman. They are also shocked to find out that the man and the young woman will be working in the same hotel for the rest of the day. The two men decide to take a walk together before they leave for work.
