The chapter opens with a conversation between Mishima and Mishima. Mishima tells Mishima that he's not mad at him for being so hostile to him in the bath. He's just worried about school, and he doesn't want Mishima to get too close to him. He says that Mishima is probably on edge at school because school tries to keep him away from her, and that's why Mishima isn't allowed to talk to Mishima alone. They talk about Mishima's many awards, which Mishima has won for his writing. He asks Mishima what the winner of the literary award was, and she says that he was just "nervous." Mishima says that even if he won, he'd have to come back later to talk with Mishima, because he might not want to leave her alone. He also says that if Mishima does come back, she'll have no choice but to tell him about their relationship, because the school will know about it, and it'll ruin their relationship.
