In December of last year, an earthquake struck the area of a town called Yagi-oki. The next day, at school, Hiroshi is studying. He rushes to his room to protect his books from the earthquake, but when he does so, he finds that the man in charge of the room is making fun of his books. He tells Hiroshi to prepare a box for his books and throw away all of them. He also tells the man that he has a date for the box and that he needs to get rid of some of the books. Hiroshi tells him that he should be careful with the books because they are from the secret health office, and he is forbidden to sell the books to any other person.
