It's time for the "toxic affair" of the piano recital, and the two of them decide that they're going to go ahead and do it. The piano recital is going to take place in the piano parlor, which means that the two are going to be alone together for the first time in a long time. They're also going to have to decide whether or not they want to go to the opera together, which is kind of a bummer, since they'll have to hang out together all the time. But, hey, it's the end of the semester, and they've got to decide what to do with themselves. They can't just hang out with each other in the same room, since that would be awkward. They need to figure out a way to get away from each other, and that's what they can do with the piano.
