In this chapter, we learn that the princess is in love with a man named Hiroyuki. Hiroyuki is a member of the royal family, and he has been sent by the emperor to marry the princess. The princess, however, has already married Hiroyuki's half-Japanese-half-Japanese girl, and she has chosen to marry him for her family's sake. Hiro's response to the princess's request for him to stop her is that he can't, because he's not in love. He says that he'll have to "play along" with the other suitors, and that he won't be able to stop the princess until he sees her happy.
