The grandfather tells the protagonist that she will be released soon, and that she should come back to the hospital as soon as she can. He tells her that he has seen her in her wedding dress and that he hopes she will stay healthy forever. He then tells her about the cultural fair that is being held in the city, and the protagonist thinks that it is his chance to be a part of it. He asks his granddaughter to bring him some pickled eggplant, thinking that it will be a good present for his granddaughter. When the protagonist learns that the pickled eggplants were sold out, he realizes that the doctor and his fiancee are perfect for one another.
