The bridge is called the "Togetsu - Ky bridge" because of its resemblance to the moon's path through the sky. The narrator remarks that he wishes the bridge were out now. He sees that the young man, nagayama, is enjoying his bounty even more than the monkeys of Arashiyama. He thinks that he will soon be able to prove his love for tenma, and that the group is clueless about his feelings. He wonders if he should try to escape on his own, but he knows that it would be impossible to follow a girl who does not know his feelings for her. He decides that he and satsuuma will team up to go shopping together. He asks if he can join them, and they both agree that it is possible. They decide to stop shopping at the bridge, and then move on to another store.
