At the end of the chapter, we find ourselves in the middle of a conversation between Mishima and Tsukamoto. Mishima is annoyed that he has forgotten his umbrella, but he assures us that he will be able to carry it under his umbrella. He also tells Mishima that he is tall, and Mishima says that he does not think he is short, but Mishima points out that people always ask about his height, so Mishima knows he is not short. He then asks Mishima if he can eat some "konnyaku" , which is a kind of dried seaweed that is eaten by people who are afraid to eat it because it is so small. When Mishima tells him that he cannot eat it, Mishima responds by saying that everyone has gone home, and that he had something he could not put off, but that it was really coming down. He says that this is the rainy day he has been waiting for, and they will share Mishima's umbrella, even though Mishima has brought his own umbrella, which Mishima thinks is useless because Mishima will never share it with Mishima, who is taller than Mishima. They agree to wait for Mishima to come back, and then Mishima asks if Mishima can carry his umbrella under his, which he says he will do. He adds that Mishima brought his rain coat and his rain gear with him, and he is sure that the students will bring rain coats and rain gear to school, which means Mishima loves Mishima more than he loves anyone else in the world. He wants to ask Mishima what he should do, since Mishima wants to share his umbrella with him instead of Mishima carrying it on purpose, which would mean Mishima would never have Mishima carry it with him on purpose.
