This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the rave master, who tells the audience that he has a daughter, whom he calls "sophia" . He tells us that the daughter was born alone, and that he raised her as his own. The rave master then asks the captain if he has heard about the daughter of yuma, and the captain says that he does. The captain tells him that the girl is named "nagisa" , and he tells the captain that he should tell her about the hideout so that she will talk about it. He then tells the Captain that he wants to move on, but that he still cannot meet with his daughter. He asks the Captain to tell her that he is her father, so that her happiness will not be ruined. The Captain replies that he doesn't want her to suffer, since he wants her to be happy. He also says that the fight is over, but he still wants to meet with nagisa. He says that it seems that the Captain wants what is best for his daughter, but not for his own daughter, who he raised as her own. When the Captain asks why he is not able to meet his daughter with her father , the Captain responds that he came to punish him for betraying them for personal gain. He adds that he also wants the mother, but the Captain says that they have only four raves, and they are all missing one each. They will meet again
