The next morning, the dragon raves to his master. He tells him that the dragons are following them, and that they have to counter them on the plains if they are to be defeated. He says that he is the greatest warrior in the dragon race, but that he cannot beat him with two hands. He asks if he has forgotten the prophecy that says something precious to him will be lost in the darkness. He wonders if the prophecy is not fulfilled, but rather, if he is too strong. He reminds his master that he wanted to be the strongest man in the world, but now that he has beaten him, he is no longer worthy of his love.
