In this chapter, we learn that the dancing contest that is to take place in the village is the result of an encounter between a traveling dancer and a giant snake that attacked the village during a dark time fifty years ago. The dancing princess danced the snake away from the village, but the girl who danced with the snake returned it to the village. The village decided to start the dance contest to celebrate the return of the snake, and the dancing princess is the heroine of the story.
