In this short scene, we learn that the battle is lost, and that the only way to defeat Doryu is with the use of the light sword. Hiroyuki is so weak that he cannot even grasp the sword of twilight, which is the most powerful sword in the universe. He is unable to use his sword of light to stop doryu, because he has no other weapon to offer. He tells his friends that they should not worry about their own lives, because they are not going to die if they die. He says that they have pushed him far enough, and he cannot forgive them for pushing him to this point. They will buy them time, he says, and then they will be able to use the power of the demon lord to defeat doryu. Everyone believes in him, and they are counting on him to finish the battle.
