In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the father of Octavius, the king of Egypt. Octavius's father, Nestor, is in the middle of a conversation with his son, Octavius. Nestor tells his son that he has to leave immediately because he has an appointment with the palace guardian. Nestor says that he will not leave his son alone. He tells Octavius that his son is too strong to fight alone, and that he is going to need Nestor's help. Nestor asks his son to go down to the palace and apologize for his rudeness. Nestor replies that he does not need to apologize. He says that the battle is not fair, because he is outnumbered, and he will have to give up before he is satisfied
