About This Chapter
In a soliloquy, Eno and the others express their desire to "dismember" and "burn her" . Eno says that they've come to kill her in memory of their former leader, who was killed in the battle. They're also friends of Eno's, and Eno wants to help protect the dew that's been falling on them. He says that he wishes they'd been braver, because they're so weak. Eno tells the others that he's going to cut off their grins. He's not going to let them get away from him. He wants to kill them both. He tells them that the wall between them and elie is between them, and that they need to smash the meteor that will kill them. Eno and Eno say that the ground is moving, and they'll need to stop jerking them around. Eno reminds them that they don't need to worry about elie, because she's the one they should worry about. Eno promises that he won't be scared of elie's death, because it'll be "a most enjoyable death." Eno reminds everyone that he wants to be with them, too, because he likes them all. He doesn't care if they die, he just wants to stand by them when things are tough. Eno then tells them to hang on to elie because he still has to do what he can for himself. He remembers how he killed Juliet, and he wants her to know that he killed her because he really likes her.
