About This Chapter
"Up spina math" is the title of this short scene. It's all about the loss of life, and this is one of the most famous lines in the book. It goes something like this: "Huff huff, huff . . huff go, go, gone end less" . This is a reference to the fact that the protagonist's body is gone, and he wants to forget the day he lost his wife and daughter. He wants to be able to forget everything that happened that day, but he doesn't have the power to do so. He's afraid that if he uses more power, he'll die. He tells us that 15 years ago, he and his wife, Sophia, were traveling through the skies when their family plane crashed, killing all of their friends. They lost all their money, their possessions, and their baby. They didn't know what to do, so they tried to run away from their grief, but they couldn't, because they were about to give birth to their child. They were too sad to do anything about it, and they just wanted to go away. They met the mother, who told them all about their family's death, and that's how they got out of their misery. They're both alive, and now they're on their way to the moon. The protagonist is so happy to be alive that he starts to cry. He says that he's lost both of his family members in a "stupid accident" , and the only thing he can think of to blame is that his wife died in the crash, and his daughter was born alive. He also says that the baby was a girl, and sophia was alive, too. The
