In this chapter, we learn that the cookie crusher was executed by Doryu fifteen years ago, and that he is still alive. He explains that Doryu's "resurrection magic" was used to return the soul of a dead person to his body. Doryu says that it's not about restoring life, but about controlling it. He says that he was too moody, and this slap in his face to the laws of nature is why Doryu would lose to a punk like him. He tells us that they fight with "the power of rave" and that they can overcome darkness. He adds that it took him twenty-five years to learn how to crush anything. He warns us that he's about to die, and says that if he doesn't kill him now, he'll smash him to pieces. He's going to kill him if he just stands there and dies like a man. If he does stand there and die, he will get hit, and he won't be able to stop him. But if he stands and dies, he can be crushed to pieces, and the only way he can stop him is with a blow to the head. He asks why he suddenly disappears, and if he wasn't dead in the beginning, why he is suddenly dead now. The answer, he says, is that the vampire's power stems from darkness, which is vulnerable to dory's black magic.
