About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a discussion between the Flight Director and the Manager of the Mars rover. The Flight Director is concerned about the rain that is forecast for the landing of the Curiosity rover. He suggests that they use sponge tires to protect the rover from the elements, but the Manager disagrees, saying that the tires would be too wet to protect them from the rain. The two men discuss the possibility of using a special sealant to seal the tires, but they decide that they will have to use the tires as they are.
