It's been a long time coming, and now we find out that it's actually been five times longer than we thought it would be. We learn that the landing is at 10,000 feet above sea level, which means that the three of them will be able to see each other for the first time in their lives. We also learn that they're going to have to stop at a pub to get water, since they've been drinking it all night. The narrator says that he's glad they didn't stop at the pub before they landed, because it would have been noisy. He also says that clink finally told him that he was the person who brought him to this point in life. Clink says that the day before, they betrayed him, and that he wanted to stay in the con-trol room, where he'd be a perfect match for clink's new job. He says that they should finish the night with clink and mutta, since the altitude is so high. They bump fists, and the narrator says it feels like a "electric shock running through his fists" .
