In this short scene, we learn that the new astronauts will have to pass a test to become a pilot. We learn that this is the same test that the old astronauts took when they first came to the moon. This time, however, the test is proctored by a man named Walter Arch, an old man who has taken only one student at a time. The new astronauts pass the test with flying ability, but they are not allowed to practice their skills in the real world.
