About This Chapter
Back on the capsule, the bloop tells Roger that he's been dropped into the sea and is now on his way to the hatch. He's not worried about his safety, but he is worried about the safety of the capsule itself. The bloop says that they've adjusted the visor's display so that it's easier to see what's going on in the capsule. They've also improved the display in the helmet, which is a big improvement over the old visor. But the real test comes when the CO2 level goes up, which means that the capsule has to be lowered into a pool of water to keep it from getting too close to the capsule's engines. The captain asks if this is a green card, or a warning that something's wrong, but the captain doesn't know what it is. He says that if the co2 levels were high, it would be a big deal, but if they were low, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. So, the captain says, he'll try to lower the capsule into the pool again, and then open the valve on the hatch to see if there's anything wrong with the system. He thinks that the signal might be a bad signal from the sensor, but that it might just be a warning from some other problem. He decides to try again.
