In this chapter, we learn that the Pandas are becoming more self-confident and assertive, and that they're going to have to ask Hamilton to do more of the heavy lifting. Hamilton, of course, is a big fan of the idea of reducing the amount of time it takes to build aquarius, so he's happy to help out. The Pandas, however, are not so happy about the fact that they have to hand over all of their heavy lifting to Hamilton. They feel like they've wasted a lot of time, and they don't have the manpower to do it all themselves. Hamilton says that he'll do whatever he can to make sure that the aquarius continues to be a success. He's sure that Hamilton will be able to do a good job, but he wonders if it'll be a problem if they ask him to do all of this heavy lifting himself. He wonders if this will make Hamilton's job even more difficult, since there's no way that the port can do all that it can to keep up with the rest of the world's machines and people. He also wonders if the task of inspecting aquarius's machinery will be even more complicated than it already is, since the port doesn't even have enough people to do the job. Hamilton is happy to have been chosen, and he thanks everyone for their kind words. He says that if he had a better idea, he'd have been the one who got the job, and now that he has it, he can't wait to show it off to everyone.
