He tells himself that it's better to take a break, even if you don't intend to do it. For example, if you've tried penicillin, you might still be able to use it. He also tells us that he thinks about serika a lot, and that he'd like to wait a second before doing anything. He asks if he should stop talking about it on his Facebook page, since he thinks people will realize that he doesn't really care about the situation. The Underground Man replies that he does care about it, but that he can't stop doing his job. He says that if he does stop, it will be harder for him to do his job in the future, because he'll have to accept the fact that his job is more important in the long run than his personal life. He then asks if there's anything he can do to help his friend, who's in trouble in Japan.
