This chapter opens with a conversation between Nemo and Nerissa. Nemo asks Nerissa if she has received a call from her brother. Nerissa replies that she does not think her brother will respond to her calls. She tells Nemo that they are two brothers who cannot even speak on the phone because they have a bad habit of fighting over trivial things. She also tells him that one day they had a fight and that they hit each other. Nemo says that he did not hit Nerissa and that he thinks Nerissa is not worth hitting. The chapter ends with Nemo telling Nerissa that he has always wanted her to be a big brother. He says that right now he is spending his days in the city of Houston and he wishes he had a little brother who would help him escape from the world.
