The next morning, the crew prepares for the launch of the second manned mission. As they prepare to board the capsule, the two men discuss the previous day's practice flight, which ended in disaster. They wonder what the chief of staff will think of the stunt, and the two wonder if the chief will be mad at them for performing such a dangerous flight. The two men are interrupted by the arrival of the third man, who introduces himself as Alexander Nimola. Nimola tells the men that he has just completed a "vertical climb roll" , a feat in which a man climbs to the top of a moving vehicle. The men are impressed by Nimola's skill, and Nimola asks the men to join him on the capsule. The three men jump off the capsule and head for the ground, where they will meet Professor Morrison.
