About This Chapter
In this short scene, Hal finds himself in the middle of a conversation with his friend Jim, who has just returned from a trip to the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) international airport in Houston, Texas. The two men discuss the fact that Hal's brother, Jim, is going to the moon as part of a family support program run by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Office of Education and Outreach. The conversation is interrupted by the sound of a disembodied voice, which interrupts the two men's conversation. It is Jim's voice, and it is the voice of his friend, who explains that he has come to the United States as a guest of the IATA because he wants to visit his older brother, who is stationed at the International Space Station.
