About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a description of phase two of the raika-island project. It is described that the island is growing in size and that it will eventually become a paradise on earth. When Eden asks how he has been able to continue the project after his son's death, he answers that he has had "weird dreams" about his son and some of his friends. He swears that he will continue to build a place where his son can belong. He tells Eden that he cannot believe that Miina has gone from this to being a member of a "major djin" group. He says that he still has the dream of meeting his idol face-to-face. He feels embarrassed, but tells himself that he must get his self "real clean" before he can face his idol. He adds that he feels like he has just been "peeping in" on Mina and that she should give up on the project. He also says that his son risked his life to protect her with the slime mold. He asks if he should be punished for his actions. He replies that he should take a rest. He then asks if they are about to leave the island because of the "geo magnetism" field that had not yet been explained in the book. He wonders if they might have been attacked by a "bio" weapon.
