About This Chapter
In this chapter, Sengoku and his friends, the "eyeball monkey" and the "eyed monkey," argue about whether or not they should abandon their mission to rescue Ohmori. They argue over whether they should go after the gigantopithecus, which they believe to be too dangerous for them, or stay in a smaller group, where they will be able to track down and rescue the missing man. They decide that they should stay as a team, since they have injured people and girls, and they don't want to risk their lives to save one person. Ohmori, however, is not so sure. He was attacked by a strange animal, and when he got lost in the jungle, the animal chased him down. When he woke up, he found himself in the company of other people. He wonders why they brought them to this place, and he wonders if the parents are teaching their children how to hunt.
