About This Chapter
This is the first time we've heard from Soge, and he's a little worried. He's worried that they're going to be attacked, so he tells Soge not to worry, because they'll be safe. Soge says that he has been keeping a lot of secret from his family and friends since he came to the island. He says that after he got his head bashed in, it freed him from all of the people who had been making him suffer. He doesn't know how to explain it to his family, but he can't figure out why they'd want to make him suffer in the first place. He tries to run away, but they won't let him. They've been running around like crazy since they arrived on the island, and now they've got to get away. They don't want to see each other, so they run ahead. They hear a voice, and it's Soge's voice. She's not sure what to say to him, but she's sure that he'll kill her if she tries to tell him what's going on. They run ahead, and Soge asks her why they haven't seen each other yet, and she says that they should wait and see what happens. She also says that she heard the voice, so she knows that they can meet and kill each other if they want to. She tells her family that she was the one who lost them, and that it was her fault that they got lost. She asks why they look so ugly, and the answer is that they are still living creatures. She says that if they hadn't gotten lost, they wouldn't be looking so ugly.
