Hiromi, Ohmori, and miyauchi are in the jungle when they hear a commotion and realize that the apes are approaching. Hiromi and Ohmori rush to the Ape's defense, but they are unable to reach them because of the dense fog. Ohmori and the others try to climb up the tree root, but the fog is so thick that they cannot see where they are going. They realize that they have passed a great deal of insects on their way to this spot, and that they must have eaten some of them to fend off the giant apes. The smoke from the insects is spreading through the jungle, and if the poison is enough to kill the giantpes, they will be eaten alive. The three of them try to hold on to the bucket of water, but it is too thick for them to breathe. They are afraid that they will die if they do not get out of the jungle alive.
