About This Chapter
Five years have passed since they last saw each other, and now they're back in the office. It's been ten years since they first met, and they've made a promise to each other: they'll work together for the sake of the island. They're both happy to see each other again, though, because it's only been five years. The supervisor tells him that the project is finally getting underway, and that it'll be a giant, 100 square-kilometer artificial island. The boss is up all night, and the supervisor says that she's done a lot of work lately. He tells her that a colleague in the national government has been against the project, and he's worried that if she keeps working herself, she'll collapse. The project will be based on the idea that the extinct animals on the island were once students at the school where his son attended. The school has been closed and abandoned, and there's no longer a school year. The island is coming into view, and it'd be nice to see it.
