In this chapter, we learn that the other humans have managed to escape from the monster's grasp, and that the monster is trying to figure out a way to get rid of them. The pant tells us that they've made a "trick" out of it, and they're going to use it to their advantage. They've got to find out what's going on, and the pant says they'll figure it out in no time. They don't know what the problem is, but they can't help but think it's weird that all the trees around them are warped and distorted, and all the humans are dead in one place. They have no idea what to do, but the pant tells them to hurry up, because things are going to get rough around here. He says he'll stay and watch to see how they go, but he's got a priority: to rescue Ohri-san, who's half-naked. He's also got a problem: he doesn't have enough time to think about it. He wants to take one of the tall, skinny monsters with him, and he wants to do something about it, pronto.
