About This Chapter
In this short scene, Ren and Toru are discussing the events of the previous day. Ren has just woken up from a fight with a wolf, and he is worried that the wolf has killed him. He wonders what the wolf wants, and Ren wonders if the wolf is trying to kill him by scattering some of his clothing. Ren is also worried about the wolf's reaction to Ren's clothing, and wonders whether the wolf might be using it as a bait to lure them into following him. The two men gather some supplies and prepare to go after the wolf, but they are too close to the cliff to see what is going on. When they return, Ren tells Toru that the wolves have been working hard, and that he has patched up the injured wolf. He blames himself for not going along with the wolves, and says that he is going to make himself sick by making himself sick.
