About This Chapter
The next day, Spica is taking her entrance exams to college, and she tells Angelo that she's "done for just killing me" . Angelo tells her that he's done for her, too, but that he still loves her, even though he doesn't act like he does. Spica says that Angelo has done more for the family than Angelo has ever done for himself, and Angelo says that if he were to give up on Spica, he wouldn't want to fall in love with anyone else. Angelo says he'll go anyway, even if Spica gives up on him. He says that he and Spica have been together since they were little, and that if they stand together, they'll be warmer. Angelo asks Spica to take a look at the stars, and he says that Spica can't point out the first star because it's too big for her to see. He tells Spica that he knows that she loves Angelo, but he feels like he should tell her the truth about how painful it can be to be treated like a child. Angelo admits that he does like Spica as a girl, but feels that he should be able to tell her how painful being treated is as a man. He asks Angelo if he can bring this up right after he got shot down, but Angelo says, "Why are you mad, swear to god, you'll always be such a jerk" , and ends the scene by wishing Angelo luck.
