About This Chapter
Erika is the president of a tea-ceremo club in New York City. She is a member of the same light music club as a fellow student named "ubukata san," who is also a fellow guitar player. Erika wants to get along with the masked player, but she is afraid that the other students will find out about her secret. She tells him that she has been hiding her face from the other club members and that she wants to be friends with him after school. When he asks her what she means, she says that she means to beat him in a jam-off. She says that if he beats her in the jam, she will take back what he said. She then asks him if he can just call her ugly like that. He says that he can play the same music as her, but that they cannot even play it the same way. She compares him to Dr. Oz, who is much better at playing the same thing than she is. She asks him how many times he has to tell her that she is Miss Wabisabi, and he replies that he does not think she is capable of such a thing. He then asks her if she is hot, and she says she is panting. He tells her to take off her mask, and when she does, he tells her that he has lost.
