About This Chapter
In this short scene, the narrator tells us that the end of the second semester, the start of the winter break, and the beginning of the Christmas season are all very different from the beginning. The narrator asks if he still hasn't been invited to a party for the boys at the school. He says that he's been waiting for someone to invite him, and that he finally managed to do so. He asks if the party is being held by the boys, but the narrator says that it's a girls' night, so they're not invited. He then asks if there's anything he can do to make up for not being invited to the boys' party. He admits that he wanted to invite the whole group, but that he was worried that they weren't close enough. He tells the narrator that he actually invited the boys to the party, and they all felt closer to him than they have in a long time.
