The narrator is stuck at work all day. He's worried about meeting up with Chiba at the train station. He doesn't want to meet up with her alone, because she's taller than him. Chiba has said that she'll be at the station by now. The narrator worries that Chiba might see him and leave the station before the last train. He also worries that he's attracted to her because of her beauty and maturity. He thinks that love between a student and an adult isn't proper. He worries that sensei will come to meet him, but he can't figure out what to do. He wonders if he should go and check on Chiba.
