About This Chapter
In this short scene, the narrator tells us that he's in love with a guy named Paul. He's got a crush on one of the girls in his class, and he'd like Paul to give her a day before his exams so she can make up her mind about whether or not she wants to go to school with him. We learn that Paul and Paul have been friends since they were students at the same school, and they've been hanging out together ever since. The narrator asks the girl if she's seen a picture of Paul's student council before she started school. The girl says she hasn't, and the narrator asks why she didn't tell him sooner. She says that she thought they were friends, and that if she told him sooner, he wouldn't worry about her future. But now she knows that Paul is a cheater, and she doesn't want him to be able to cheat on her. She tells the girl to go home and get her wounds checked out. She's bleeding from eating lunch with Paul, but she insists that her wounds are fine.
