In this chapter, we learn that Ward and Ward's mom, Mami, had a fight. She tells her son that he shouldn't be mad at Ward for fighting him. She also tells him that she's going to stay home to watch over her daughter-in-law, Ganymede, who's getting ready to go off to college with some of her female friends. Mami says that she doesn't care what Ward thinks, but she does want to know why he's still hanging out with his mom. She asks why he hasn't been spending more time with her, and he says that he'd rather spend time with his family. Mami then asks why Ward and his mom haven't broken up yet, and she says that it's because they're still young, and they can't really forgive each other yet. She says that if they were to break up, they'd have to get over their "dumb stuff" , which she says they do all the time in high school. She points out that if you're in love with someone, you should post a picture of the two of them kissing on the web, so that everyone will know about it. Mami tells her kids that love is a two-way street, and that they can get into trouble sometimes, but they have to be able to forget about it and forgive.
