He's just trying to get them to stop talking about how cute they are and start talking about what's going on in their lives. The two are so into each other's company that they don't even notice that the other is getting ready to leave the room. The narrator is all, "hey, we're going to have sex, but first we've got to get ready." The two of them head off to the bedroom, where they'll have sex.
