The chapter opens with a discussion between the protagonist and a foreign exchange student. The protagonist is going out with the student, and the foreign exchange girl seems to be having an affair with him. She seems to hate "indecent" things, the protagonist says, and he tries to calm her down by saying that indecent things aren't bad, and that he's just trying to make sure she doesn't get too close to him. The exchange girl, however, seems to think that kissing is indecent, too.
