This is a locked chapterChapter 7, Act 7: Millennium Debt
About This Chapter
In this chapter, Cai tells the story of how he came to be. He tells the reader that he was given the "pill of immortality" by da bai and that he gained a "new state of consciousness". He tells Cai that he accepted the story as his own and promised to carry out Cai's vengeance. He also tells Cai about how he accelerated his absorption of the energy of the true sinners and gave the corpse of the dead man a proper burial as well as that of his family. Cai explains that the deaths of his parents were the result of this. He explains that some of the villagers in the neighboring villages recognized signs of undead killing and offered him regular sacrifices in order to protect their own families. They sent villagers who were ostracized and people who opposed the villagers and offered their property to Cai as a sacrifice, eventually giving up his savior's descendant. Cai asks Cai if he still wants to kill him and avenge his parents or if he wishes for justice. Cai tells him that his family owes him a debt for what his ancestor did and asks him if he wants his wife or daughter chosen as the sacrifice. Cai reminds Cai that his father lied to him when Cai asked him to look after Cai and his mother. Cai says that he is going to meet his father now and tells Cai to leave the village.
