About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter, in which Rendu lost his memory and was unable to remember anything. Rendu's mind was wandering, and he had lost his ability to control his own thoughts. He had also lost the ability to think clearly, and Rendu had been unable to reason with himself. Now, Rendu has a new ability: he can control his thoughts. This new ability allows Rendu to speak clearly, even when he is in a state of confusion. He is able to see clearly, for the first time, what his thoughts are and what he is unable to see. He can also see that he has lost his power to reason, and that he cannot communicate with Rendu. This is a big problem for Rendu, because Rendu can only see Rendu as an enemy, and not as a fellow human being. He cannot understand why Rendu would want to kill Rendu when he has the power to communicate with him. He thinks Rendu should give Rendu his body for preservation.
