About This Chapter
In the middle of the night, the gang decides to sneak back to the hotel to get some snacks. The narrator tells the story of his childhood. When he was about fourteen years old, he saw a meat stall with human flesh on it. The meat was prepared specially for refugees. The head-catching man was cruel to the refugees, but the butcher was as cruel as the head-catcher. He also looked at the narrator in a different way when he saw more refugees coming. He sneaks out of his house once and is kidnapped by a group of traffickers. The young man tells him that if he can survive, his family will find him. The old man praises the young man and takes him to the local office to get help.
