This is a locked chapterChapter 76, Act 51: Wanye the New World (Part 2)
About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that Dr. Manette's name is on the household registration list, which means that she's on her way to the top of the tower. She's worried about her sister, who's also on the list, and wants to know what's going to happen to her when she jumps from the top. She tries to convince her sister to go ahead and die, but she can't bring herself to do so. She also tells her sister that there are lots of people out there who want to die too, but they're too scared of heights to do it themselves. She tells him to ignore them, and they'll just have to wait until the time is right for them to die. He tells her that he's done his best to reduce the impact of the jump, but it's too late. He's not feeling well, and he begs his sister to call an ambulance. He also tells his sister that the "augmented undead" sucked, and that his sister's husband was trying to get out of the way, but he didn't succeed. He says that her husband's memory will be "different" in the future, because he'll be able to read stones in the afterlife, but that his memory won't be as diverse as it was in the present. The only thing that's different now is that he can act freely, without fear of revealing his identity.
