About This Chapter
Act 28 opens with a flashback to a time when the immortal sage of the law was the strongest man in the world. He wanted to learn the blood-resurrection technique, but he couldn't get it. He threatened to show it to his friend Xiao Shangguan if he didn't comply with his request. But she found out anyway. The flashback shows that even though the sage killed him once, he's not blameless. He says that it was his honor to once call him his brother. He also says that he usually lives alone. The wu family offers him a bounty, and he hasn't agreed to be his disciple. He wants to show his disciple how to use the power to draw customers to his stall. He doesn't have to teach them to him, he says, because he can't trade them for a second chance at life. This is a great bargain, he claims. He compares the power of the shrinking agent to that of the master, saying that no one can even compare the two. The shrinking agent is so reliable that the blood ball just jumped out of his mouth. He's still not done with the idea of using the power. He tells his disciple to take a little time to review his newfound knowledge.
