This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between Eno and Desdemona. Eno says that he wishes he could move his wound to another part of the battlefield, but that he can't because it's a waste of his time. He also says that his mind is always on the lookout for something to do. After each attack, he says, there's "a clear mind" that needs to be kept in mind.
