About This Chapter
Back at the inn, we find ourselves in a conversation between the two young men. They've just finished their first day of college, and they're both psyched to be starting their new jobs. They both feel like they've missed out on a lot of important things in life, and now they want to get back to the real world and make a living for themselves. We're not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but it's clear that the two of them are in a good mood. They talk about how much fun it would be to go back to school and be a journalist, and then they decide to go home to play "dirty video games." They're all psyched to see each other again, but they don't know what to do with each other yet. The two men talk about the fact that two years have passed since they last saw each other. It's obvious that they haven't seen each other in a long time. The men are all dressed up in their military duds, and the narrator tells us that they'll all be back in a few years to star in a "blockbuster" movie about their own stories. The narrator then tells us about a movie called "Trophaeum," which was produced by a guy named Peter J. Brockheimer. It was a "secret service film series," and it was a hit. The plot of the movie was that the director of the flying-day movie, Roland Abrams, was going to rescue the guy from the sky, but the old man wouldn't let him go. The old man is still alive, but he's not going to betray the current guy. The new guy is the one who's going to save the guy. But the old guy isn't going to let the new guy go, either.
