In this chapter, the monster explains how he came to be in the middle of the lake. He tells the audience that he was once told by his mother that a storm was caused by a dragon's roar. When he was a boy, his mother told him that the storm came from the lake and that the roar was due to the roar of a dragon. When the monster was a young man, he was told that his mother would hold him back a bit and that he could manage it on his own. Now, he says, he knows that he can't manage it himself. The monster says that he has guarded his chastity "for 80 years" and that his body is pure and clean for the purpose of protecting the village. He says that his mum often told him stories about a storm on a lake caused by the storm of the dragon. The storm is caused when the dragon roars, and the monster says he could have managed it himself if he had not been so afraid. He adds that he knows he told his mother to hold back a little bit, but that it is too much. He wonders if there is a bastard between him and his mother, and says that after what he did, he had no use for her. He also says that water contains a great deal of air, which makes it more delectable to the monster. He asks if the monster is sure that he is getting the right idea. There are 4 billion bits of women in the world, and she is just one of them. He concludes that he will destroy both of them if he is not allowed to go anywhere.
